I just finished reading Think Again by Adam Grant. It’s a book about rethinking, both at individual and group levels. Here I’d like to discuss one part of the book. It’s about the importance of experimentation. Here is an excerpt:
你只得到几opportunities, and you have to grab them aggressively when they come because even in the most favored life, they’re really rare. – Charlie Munger How do you reach your full potential? A big part of that, I believe, is making the most of your opportunities. The more you can capitalize on the opportunities that come your way, the better off you will be. But if you don’t make the most of them or – worse – miss them altogether, you wouldn’t do well. So how do you make the most of the opportunities?
Your mindset plays a key role in maximizing your personal growth. Why is that the case? Because your mindset determines your actions. The right mindset will lead you to the right actions. The wrong mindset, on the other hand, will lead you to the wrong actions. The question is: what is the right mindset to adopt to maximize your personal growth?
We now live in an uncertain time. Things that seemed certain just a few months ago may seem uncertain now. What seemed like sure bets back then may turn out to be the opposite. So how can we go through this? Well, I believe that the key to survive and even thrive in uncertain times is being adaptable.
We have been in this pandemic for a few months now. Needless to say, this is an unprecedented situation for most – if not all – of us. This is a difficult time, but I believe it’s also a good opportunity to learn a lot. As I’ve written a while back, this is a good time to reinvent ourselves. So here is my question to you: What lessons have you learned from this pandemic? Please share your answer in the comments so that everyone can read it. Thanks!
